NEW HEALTHY EATING IDEAS Business group: NM Program: Health Professionals o Helping GPs advise their patients on good nutrition o Reinforcing the relevance of dairy in the diet of all consumers o Demonstrating Dairy Australia’s credibility in nutrition information The new good health recipe book has been very successful since its launch in October 2006. The catch phrase “New healthy eating ideas? What – grass isn’t good enough for you?” was used to introduce General Practitioners nationally to Dairy Australia’s new Good Health Recipe Book II. The recipe book was distributed as an insert in various journals, including the GP medical journal, Medicine Today, with the option to fax back for more copies for their patients. This valuable patient resource was also highlighted at various health professional conferences. To date more than 100,000 booklets have been distributed to consumers via GPs, dietitians and other health professions and specialist magazines. The new recipe booklet aims to build on the success of the first booklet with a contemporary look and new recipes. The Good Health Recipe Book II continues to reinforce the relevance of dairy in the diet of all consumers, including those with chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes. Continuous evaluation of the Health Professional program (April 2007) showed that over three-quarters of GPs agree that the Good Health Recipe Book II is useful for health professionals and overwhelmingly 86 per cent reported it as useful for patients. Dairy Australia enjoys a high credibility rating of 93 per cent from GPs for its nutrition information and publications. This rating, equal to the Heart Foundation, outscores professional associations, other industry association bodies and leading food companies. PROGRAM PERFORMANCE 2006/07 This section provides a summary of program outcomes. The planned programs are grouped by business group but this does not reflect the rich cross functionality between many of the programs and the business groups that manage them. The exception is the national drought response, led by Dairy Australia and the Australia Dairy Industry Council, which drew upon executives from every business group in Dairy Australia.
