Dairy Australia is the dairy industry’s services company. The Company helps the dairy industry to be collaborative, innovative, sustainable and competitive against international dairy industries and substitute products.
Its core business objectives underpin its primary purpose of maximising sustainable profitability for Australian dairy farmers. These objectives are to:
- Increase farm productivity
- Maintain and develop high margin markets, channels and products
- Promote and protect the unique benefits of Australian dairy
Dairy Australia invests Dairy Service Levy funds, Australian Government matching funds and other income into industry-level activities where collective action delivers more effective and valuable commercial outcomes for levy payers than action taken by individual members. Expenditure on research and development and industry services during 2006/07 was $54.8 million.
